Common questions.
Does my church member need a smartphone or special device?
No. Ekkora works in any web browser — tablet, phone, laptop, or desktop computer. Many churches set up an inexpensive Amazon Fire tablet ($50–$80) as a dedicated device in a member's home. No app download is ever required from the member.
Do members need to create an account or remember a password?
Never. Members simply open a webpage — your church's Ekkora link — and they're connected. There's nothing to install, nothing to sign up for, and no password to remember. For elderly members, this zero-friction approach is essential.
What if our church doesn't have a live stream?
That's completely fine. You can disable any tile that doesn't apply to your church. Even without livestreaming, the Call Pastor, Prayer Request, Care Request, Church Directory, and Announcements tiles give homebound members meaningful connection. You decide which tiles are active.
How long does setup take?
Most churches are fully set up in under 20 minutes. You create an account, add your church name and logo, pick your brand colors, toggle which tiles you want active, and add your links and phone numbers. That's it. Your page is immediately live at ekkora.com/your-church-name.
What is "kiosk mode" and do we need it?
Kiosk mode is for churches that want to place a dedicated tablet in a member's home or a care facility. In kiosk mode, the tablet locks to your Ekkora page, auto-launches your live stream at service time, and returns to the main screen afterward — all automatically. You don't need kiosk mode if members are accessing Ekkora from their own phones or computers. It's optional, but it's a powerful way to serve members who aren't comfortable with technology.
Can we customize it to look like our church?
Yes — on Connect, Grow, and Network plans you can upload your church logo and choose custom brand colors. Your Ekkora page will display your logo, use your colors, and show your church name. The "Powered by Ekkora" footer is removed on paid plans. On the free Community plan, Ekkora's standard branding is used.
Is this secure? Where do prayer requests go?
Prayer requests and care requests are submitted through a form and sent directly to the email address you configure (typically your pastor or care team email). We do not store message content on our servers. All communication is encrypted via HTTPS. We take your members' privacy seriously.
What happens if we want to cancel?
Month-to-month plans can be canceled anytime with no cancellation fees. Annual plans are non-refundable but can be canceled before renewal. Your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period.
